Melanin is a natural pigment that gives colour to skin. Exposure to sunlight, hormonal influences and ageing can cause an increase in melanin production and trigger hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation appears as dark patches and age spots (also known as sun spots) that make skin look uneven.
Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum brings together two powerful active ingredients that work in different ways:
Thiamidol: an effective and patented ingredient that acts at the root cause of hyperpigmentation is clinically proven to reduce hyperpigmentation, preventing its re-appearance with regular usage. Patented to Eucerin.
Concentrated Hyaluronic Acid: one of skin’s most effective moisturising substances helps skin to attract and retain moisture.
The light emulsion is clinically and dermatologically proven to reduce pigment spots and prevent their re-appearance while renewing skin’s look. First results are visible after two weeks and improve continuously with regular use. Skin is smooth and looks renewed, even and radiant. The packaging now comes in a mono-chamber for easier application with same proven efficacy.
Main findings
Among other clinical and dermatological studies, a Product in Use (PIU) study was conducted with 120 women aged between 25 and 55. They reported the following results after four weeks of regular use:

Clinical Formula
Thiamidol
Thiamidol is a patented ingredient, known to fight hyperpigmentation acting at its root cause. It works by inhibiting the human tyrosinase, the key enzyme in melanin production. Hyperpigmentation can be the result of different causes, e.g. sun-induced pigment spots, post-acne marks or age spots. Key benefits are:
- Reduction of Hyperpigmentation: By effectively inhibiting tyrosinase, Thiamidol decreases melanin synthesis, leading to a visible reduction in dark spots and an even skin tone.
- Works on all skin types: Thiamidol is dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types, including dry, oily, combination, normal and sensitive skin. It works for skin of any ethnicity or age and thus is effective on all skin types and tones.
- Fights post-acne marks: Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation happens when skin is inflamed or injured, for example because of acne. The impacted area is left darkened and hyperpigmented despite having otherwise healed. Thiamidol addresses these areas resulting in an even skin tone.

Can I use Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum alongside other Eucerin moisturizers or will it only deliver results if used with the moisturizers in the Anti-Pigment range?
For best results in terms or reducing hyperpigmentation we recommend that you use Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum once a day and in combination with other products in our Anti-Pigment range. The serum will still work if used with other moisturizers, it’s just that it may well take longer for you to see results.
If you experience hyperpigmentation but it is not your primary skin-aging concern then you may want to apply Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum before one of our anti-aging care products such as:
- Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Day SPF 30 and which plump up fine lines and deep wrinkles for a rejuvenated look
- Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler + Volume Lift Day SPF15 for dry skin or Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler + Volume Lift Day SPF 15 for normal to combination skin and Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler + Volume Lift Night which plump up deep wrinkles and redefine facial contours for a lifting effect

Can I use both Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum and Eucerin Anti-Pigment Spot Corrector at the same time?
Yes, you can. Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum is effective at boosting the results of the Anti-Pigment day and night creams on your whole face, neck and décolleté. Eucerin Anti-Pigment Spot Corrector has been specially formulated to fade individual, smaller areas of concern. The two products work well together but you should only use a maximum of four applications of products containing Thiamidol per day.
You could use one in the morning followed by Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 and the other in the evening followed by Eucerin Anti-Pigment Night, or you could use both at the same time followed by the appropriate day or night cream. If you apply both together, use the serum first, then the spot corrector followed by the appropriate care product.
Can I use Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum instead of a moisturizer?
Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum contains concentrated Hyaluronic Acid which improves skin moisturization. It has been formulated to boost the effectiveness of our pigment-reducing moisturizers. For best results we recommend that you use it in combination with other products in the Eucerin Anti-Pigment range.
Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum does not protect skin from the sun. As the sun’s rays are a key contributor to hyperpigmentation it’s important to wear an appropriate sun protection product, even on cloudy days. We recommend that, if you apply Eucerin Anti-Pigment Dual Serum in the morning, you follow it with Eucerin Anti-Pigment Day SPF 30 to help fade existing acne marks and protect skin from the sun, thereby reducing further sun-induced pigmentation issues. For intense sun exposure choose a higher protection factor from the Eucerin sun protection range.
